Brooklyn Flea.

The Brooklyn Flea is AMAZING. Beautiful vintage clothes, jewels, and bags. Vintage prints of botany, anatomy, astronomy. Old cameras, globes, furniture. And the food? Arguably the reason we went: Brisket sandwiches, horechas, tacos, Mexican corn, egg creams, oh my. The Bk Flea is located in one of my favorite Brooklyn neighborhoods, Fort Greene, so make a day of it, and if you make a night of it, go to Abistro, a quaint, delicious, Moroccan French place (BYOB!!!).

Fatty Crab.

My taste buds did a little jig during lunch today. The flavors were complex and luscious, but never too much. Try the watermelon pickle and and crispy pork salad for a perfect marriage of sweet and salty, the Nasi Lemak platter of beautifully spiced chicken curry and pickled vegetables, and the turmeric tempura soft shell crabs with a intense green chili crab fat curry. All at Fatty Crab, NYC.

Oh ya know, just some new species.

I absolutely love sea creatures. Their symmetry, color, and layering is almost unreal. This is a Sea-floor skimming jelly fish which is a potentially new species of deep-sea jellyfish, among others. I still intend on creating Ernst Haeckel type furniture fabrics.
